Q) Approximately how much will a Spa cost to run per day?
A) A Spa will cost, on average, about £1.00 a day to run.
Q) What day to day running considerations incur the costs?
A) Mostly a small amount of power to maintain water
heat and power supply to the pumps, along with the chemicals for cleaning and maintenance.
Q) What are the chemical costs for running a Spa?
A) Depending where you buy from, the chemicals will cost no more than £20.00 per month & even less if you have an ozone system installed. These supplies are available from the Aquafinesse brand at great prices directly from us, through this website.
Q) Can a spa be moved through a doorway?
A) The smaller models may fit but the larger models are very unlikely to. But model sizes do vary. We generally transport the spas on the side with the use of a spa trolley
Q) Do I need to have a permanent water connection to the spa?
A) No. Initially fill the pool using a garden hose and then top up the water as required.
Q) How large an electrical supply is required?
A) Around about 40Amps, but it varies slightly by model. Check the specification sheet for the spa that you have chosen. Generally the greater the amps the spa consumes the greater the output power will be.
Q) Do I need to have the electrical supply set up by a professional electrician?
A) Yes. You will need a registered electrician to determine what supply is required and run the appropriate circuits (usually a circuit from the consumer unit and install a circuit breaker).
Q) What is the weight of a spa when it is dry/empty?
A) Models vary, but the weight is approximately between 280Kg to 380Kg.
Q) What is the weight of a spa when it is full?
A) Between 2500Kg and the upper end for a very large spa and about 1630Kg for the smaller 1250 litre capacity Spa
Q) What can we do if access to my ideal spa location is limited?
A) It is rarely a problem, contact us and we can arrange crane hire as part of the installation which will usuall allow access to almost any area.
Q) Why do all spas/hot tubs have different size pumps?
A) Pump sizes vary in speed & pressure. Each model targets a range of requirements. Generally, the greater the size the more powerful and therapeutic the spa becomes.
Q) How often do I need to change the water?
A) We recommend changing the water every 3-4 months or sooner if you prefer. It also depends on what products you are using for cleaning and maintenance, see our Aquafinesse product range to give you a better idea.
Q) What is a 24 hour re-circulation pump?
A) The recirculation pump is constantly on at a cost of no more than 10 pence a day. It manages the water, and helps to reduce noise levels from you spa.
Q) Will the spa work in all weathers?
A) This mostly depends on the size of the heater in the spa. Naturally, the smaller the heater and the larger the spa, the longer it will take for the water to warm up. We recommend at least a 3.0kw heater so you can use the spa all year, but a smaller heater is plenty on the smaller size of spa.
Q) What is an ozone system?
A) Ozone purification systems are fitted as standard on our spas. They reduce the amount of chemicals used in, and the running costs, of the spa.
